This is a subset of my bicycle journals for the Hawaiian Islands. I lived in Hawaii Kai, from 1974 to 1978 while working as a Research Associate. Virginia, Peggy, my daughter and I visited all the other main islands. My major disappointment about my stay in Hawaii was that it was sufficiently expensive that going to another on a whim for coffee or a mai tai was out of the question. I did get back, riding, on all Kauai, Maui, Molokai, and the Big Island (Hawaii). It was a delight to see them closeup. On the Big Island, when I stopped to buy some fruit, the owner said to me "Hey, next time no be a stranger."
